BUYOUT An inn ( Pousada) or a Boutique Hotel just for you
The term "buyout" comes from the corporate world, where it describes the act of taking control of another company by buying it. In tourism, it refers to the act of "closing" a guesthouse or hotel for a certain period, reserving all the rooms for a single guest, family, company or group.
This is a practice already used for major brand events (product launches, mainly in the automobile industry) and congresses.
Historically, "buyout" has been a concept restricted to luxury tourism. After all, booking an entire hotel necessarily involves some financial investment.
Many celebrities are also fans of this booking system, closing off entire properties for their families or groups of friends so as not to be "disturbed".
After all, "buyout" offers autonomy and privacy, but without having to give up hotel services.
Although it's not a cheap option (on the contrary), it has already been democratised: there are now small pousadas and boutique hotels in Portugal, whether inland, on the coast or on the islands, at much more affordable costs.
But how does the buyout work?
The "buyout" allows you to close an entire property for a desired period, whether for a weekend, a whole week or even for longer periods, depending on the hotel's availability.
Costs vary greatly from one property to another, and also depending on the benefits package included. But to give you a general idea, it should cover at least the daily rates for all the rooms in the hotel for the period you want.
The services included in the buyout vary depending on the services contracted. There are #buyouts" that include only the stay and breakfast, others include half board (usually breakfast and dinner) and there are much more complete agreements that cover several services, such as the all-inclusive system.
In our opinion, the "buyout" is perfect for companies that want to give a personal touch to an event, making it possible to personalise the entire stay.
Imagine guests being checked in by your company's sales staff; or the "Rom Service", with a fruit basket being delivered; or surprising the group with a meal!
On the other hand, to enrich the experience, it's worth complementing the programme with what a particular area/region has to offer.
There's a popular expression that says "the sky's the limit".
